We at OPEX Riverdale embrace change. These times have offered us the opportunity to show our resiliency and power of healthy habits. We have taken this time to spruce things up. As you return to our studio you will notice some changes.

First, we want to take a minute to kindly ask that you practice extra patience with our full renovation. The office and front desk reception area are still under construction.

If you have concerns about returning to the gym, please let us know. We will do everything we can to answer your questions and keep you feeling safe.

MEMBER ASSESSMENT OF RISK

We will take every precaution that we can, but members must weigh their own risk factors before deciding to come in.

The government recommends caution when considering visiting facilities for those over 40 years of age and those with underlying risk factors:
Heart disease
High blood pressure (hypertension)
Lung disease
Diabetes
Cancer
Weakened Immune Systems

If you have any of the above underlying risk factors and you want to visit the gym, it is recommended that you wear a mask and practice regular hand washing.

If you have any concerns about returning to the gym or aren't sure if you fall into one of these categories, please let us know immediately.

CLEANING + DISINFECTING

OPEX Riverdale will be using supplies and practices recommended by CDC (The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) experts to ensure the gym is clean and safe.
We will be cleaning more often and more thoroughly, including disinfecting between sessions.
Commonly touched surfaces and shared equipment will be cleaned and sanitized after contact by each individual, even if they are not visibly dirty.
OPEX Riverdale will display a 'disinfected' sign at each workout station once it has been cleaned so each member entering the facility knows that their station is ready for use.
All disinfectant used has been sourced from our cleaning company and has been approved by the CDC to kill bacteria and viruses.
Alcohol-based hand sanitizer (70% or higher) that has been approved by the CDC will be available to all members and staff.
We have installed all new MERV-13 air filters. These filters proactively capture even the most microscopic particles from the air, including mold, dust mites, bacteria and harmful viruses.
To add to the air quality we have also installed an exhaust fan and we will keep our doors open to ensure fresh air circulation.

We have taken even further precautions to make sure we have the cleanest air possible and have 2 HEPA air purifiers on site.

ROAD MAP TO THE NEW OPEX EXPERIENCE

What you can expect when you're back at the gym.

1: SIGNING UP FOR SESSIONS
All members will be required to register for their workout session BEFORE entering the facility. Members will not be permitted to show up without registering.
Registration will allow OPEX Riverdale to track who was at the facility each day and at what time. We will be taking contact tracing very seriously and ask all members to do the same. Before registering, members will have to fill out a COVID questionnaire on the Acuity site.
Each session will be limited to 5 members every 75 minutes with a 15-minute break between sessions for disinfecting and sanitizing.
Members will not be permitted to bring their kids to the facility until the physical distancing requirement has been lifted.
The new session times are outlined in this Acuity link: Onsite Training Link. Please check TrueCoach for full details on our new schedule.

2: ENTERING THE FACILITY
Upon entering the facility there will be physical distancing markers on the floor of the front entrance reception area. Only one person will be permitted in the lobby at a time. Please wait for the floor coach at this mark.
The floor coach on duty will ask you if you are experiencing symptoms or are sick and will be taking your temperature with a Non-Contact Digital Laser Infrared Thermometer Temperature Gun. Please answer truthfully. If you are found to be symptomatic, we reserve the right to ask you to vacate the premises.
Next, please follow the sanitizing instructions posted at the front and head to your assigned VIP workout station with all of your belongings. We have installed hooks in every station, use them to hang your coat, bag, etc. We are requiring all members to bring an extra pair of ‘gym’ shoes. Please DO NOT wear your street shoes into the gym workout area.
The cubby area will be closed until further notice.
There will be instructions and signage available onsite, and emailed directly to all members should you need a quick reminder of our new policies.

3: GETTING SET UP + YOUR WORKOUT
Once you arrive at your assigned workout station, you will notice we have already provided you with the vast majority of equipment you will need to complete your workout.
There may be one or two items that you may have to ask the coach to supply for you. We ask that you do not attempt to grab your own equipment outside of your workspace. Please ask the floor coaches assistance for anything you need for your workout before you get started to eliminate the need to leave your station during your workout.
Your station will be stocked with its own disposable sanitizing wipes, hand sanitizer and garbage bin. We ask that you wipe your equipment down before and after use.

NOTE:
We will not be assigning exercises that require you to move around the space. Please use your best judgment or ask the floor coach if you are concerned an exercise will require you to leave your station.
Members will not be permitted to share or simultaneously use the equipment during their workouts.

4: DURING YOUR WORKOUT
Members will be required to remain in their station for the duration of their workout unless they need to access to the restroom facilities.
Community chalk, whiteboards, and markers will not be made available at this time as they cannot be properly disinfected between sessions. Please bring your own chalk and a print out of your workout.
Our cellphone policy will still be enforced. Please leave your phone in your bag.
We will also be strictly enforcing the physical distancing policy between clients. Our floor coach will work with a three-strike rule. If you are asked twice to remain in your station the third request will be to exit the facility immediately.
If you require supplementary gear such as a yoga mat, bands, foam rollers, jump ropes, etc. Please bring them from home. We will not be providing these items for sanitary purposes.

5: EXITING THE FACILITY
Upon completion of your workout members will be required to wipe down all of their equipment with the disposable wipes located at their station.
Once wiped, please return the equipment to the racks so the coach can disinfect before the next session.
Check your station to ensure you have all of your belongings and head to the new exit door by the restrooms. Follow the instructions located on the turf and exit the facility immediately.
Note that showers are now open for regular use. We still encourage all members to come dressed and ready for their workouts to minimize the use of the washrooms.

Reminders:
Only one member in the entrance and exit area at a time. Please wait until it is clear before entering and leaving your station.
MASKS
Our staff will be required to wear a mask while coaching at the facility. All coaches will be supplied with a disposable mask.
Members will also be required to wear a mask.
All coaches will be required to maintain a 6 feet distance from all members while coaching.
Coaches will not be required to wear gloves, but it will be mandatory for coaches to wash their hands before and after each session.
Coaches will also be required to take their temperature with the Non-Contact Digital Laser Infrared Thermometer Temperature Gun, self-monitor for symptoms and stay home if they are feeling under the weather.
